Studio

Gärtnerplatz, München, Germany, 2010-present

Something of a larger bunker in Munich’s hip central art/design/fashion hub of Gärtnerplatz. Blessed with more room than I need: features a gallery room, drawing room, painting room, photography / tech lab / research and storage facility with maybe a museum sized goods lift. Yes I had some luck with this one. Studio is open to the public two times a year, subscribe to the mailing list for next event.

Located in leafy inner city suburb of Bukit Timah, surrounded by the tranquility of multiple construction sites. Great light and even greater drying times.

Richmond, Melbourne, Australia, 2001-2010

My studio is located in Melbourne’s inner city suburb of Richmond. It’s a large, industrial warehouse space which allows me to produce work of almost any size and work simultaneously on several works. It’s a little spartan but very appropriate as my working environments are notoriously messy. I like the chaos, dust and artefacts which I frequently mix in with paint and binders or apply directly to work. This random collection of material has formed an integral part of my painting process.

Trudering, Münich, Germany, 1998-2001

My first true studio was established in 1998 after relocating to Münich, Germany. It was a very small and quite ugly apartment in the leafy suburb of Trudering. Despite the confinements of the space it has proved an extremely productive painting space. It’s very well lit and during the summer months I often work from the balcony.
